This award recognises an organisation that plays a key role in the delivery of events and has demonstrated a tangible commitment to environmental sustainability through a specific initiative, event, or ongoing strategy. This could include reducing the environmental impact of events, introducing greener supply chains, forming sustainability-focused partnerships, or pioneering carbon-reduction practices. Eligible initiatives may include sustainable event design, carbon offsetting programmes, waste reduction strategies, renewable energy use, or supplier engagement in line with ESG goals. Entry is by a 5-page A4 submission; Please address the key criteria set out below and include any supporting materials, such as photos and videos, within the document. Ensure that any videos are provided in a link format.
- Initiative Overview: Describe the sustainability initiative or project undertaken. Outline the scope, goals, and event context. Include whether your organisation has established a Green Team, completed an environmental audit, or holds relevant accreditations or external validations.
- Leadership and Commitment: Explain how your organisation—especially its leadership—has demonstrated a genuine and strategic commitment to sustainability. Share details of any public pledges, internal sustainability goals, or Green Action Plans and how these are being activated.
- Sustainable Practices and Processes: Outline the sustainable systems or event processes implemented over the past 12 months. This could include areas such as waste reduction, ethical catering, emissions control, eco-conscious travel policies, or circular economy thinking.
- Education and Training: Describe the sustainability-related training provided to internal teams, suppliers, or stakeholders that enabled them to contribute meaningfully to your goals.
- Challenges Overcome: Detail any key obstacles faced and how your organisation used creativity, persistence, or collaboration to overcome them—especially under time, resource, or regulatory pressures.
- Results and Impact: Provide measurable evidence of the environmental benefits achieved. Include quantitative results (e.g., carbon savings, waste diverted, supplier improvements), with comparisons to previous years or baselines where possible.
- Additional Supporting Information: Include any additional facts, statements, testimonials, or external endorsements that support your case for recognition.
